Mohit Suri-Udita Goswami's wedding
After low-key sangeet and mehndi ceremonies, actress Udita Goswami got married to director Mohit Suri (of Zeher, Kalyug, Woh Lamhe, Raaz: The Mystery Contrinues, Murder 2 fame) in a traditional Punjabi ceremony at Hare Rama Hare Krishna temple in Juhu, a western Mumbai suburb, on January 29.
Shahrukh Khan hits back
Barely few days after his controversial article appeared in Outlook, Shah Rukh addressed the media to launch The Times of India Film Awards in Mumbai. He said that he and his family were completely safe and secure in India, and denied saying that he had faced any security problems in India.
The commotion started after Pakistan's Interior Minister Rahman Malik said on Monday that India should take care of Khan's security, drawing sharp reactions from the government as well as the political class, saying that Pakistan should be more worried over the security of its citizens.
"My own family and friends are like a mini India... where all religions, professions and a few wrongs included, are treated with tolerance and understanding and regard for each other. I stand indebted to my audience in my country and around the world. It is sad that I have to say it to prove it, in my country, which my father fought for, during the Independence struggle," the actor told the media.

Unseen letters of Gandhi create a buzz

A collection of letters from Mahatma Gandhi, to his 'friend' Hermann Kallenbach in South Africa, generated speculation on the nature of their relationship, while providing fresh insight on Gandhi's initial time in South Africa. In one of the letters, Gandhi has addressed Kallenbach as 'My Dear Lower House' and signed off as 'Yours Sinly, Upper House' that aroused queries about the proximity of his relationship with the German-born Kallenbach. However, historian Gurpreet Maini dismissed any such notion and termed the friendship between Gandhi and Kallenbach as 'platonic'. The letters, papers and photographs that shed new light on Mahatma Gandhi and his time in South Africa are on display at the National Archives in New Delhi, after they were auctioned in London.
