Rediff.com takes a look at the most deadly Naxal attacks on security forces over the last five years.
March 11: Tuesday’s deadly attack left 15 security personnel deadly. Over 100 Naxals outnumbered the Central Reserve Police Force and the state police in an ambush in Tongpal village, close to the Darbha Ghat area, of Sukma district in south Chhattisgarh.
February 28: Six police personnel, including a station house officer, was killed in a Maoist attack in the Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh.

April 13, 2009: 10 paramilitary troops killed in eastern Odisha when Maoists attack a bauxite mine in Koraput district.
