MNS activists, including those from the women’s wing, stormed highways in and around Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Aurangabad inconveniencing officer-goers during the morning peak hours.
Thackeray was detained in the morning at Chembur when he was proceeding to the Vashi toll plaza in Navi Mumbai and was later released. He asked his workers to protest peacefully, but in vain.
MNS workers went on a rampage across Maharashtra damaging buses, forcibly shutting shops and inflating tyres of vehicles.
