Pak@65: India is NOT enemy no 1, the US is
According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, from among key global and regional players, Pakistanis view China as most friendly and the United States as hostile.
The findings were based on a nation-wide opinion poll conducted by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.
The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2,685 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during July 27, 2012 -- August 04, 2012. Error margin is estimated to be approximately 2-3 percent at 95 per cent confidence level.

International friendship and hostility
Given a choice between China, India and the US, 67 per cent of Pakistanis choose China, 7 per cent choose the US and only 4 per cent choose India as Pakistan's best Friend.

Internal and external threats
Pakistanis are divided on whether the threat to nation comes principally from 'internal' or 'external' sources. 40 per cent fear internal threats and a higher proportion at 51 per cent fear external threats.
Question: Like all nations of the world, Pakistan faces several problems like economic threats (meaning that Pakistan is undergoing financial troubles),political threats (meaning political leadership and institutions are week), social threats (meaning people belonging to different regions fight) and religious threats (meaning people of different faith fight with eachother).

Majority favors democracy: Having experimented with other forms of government, during its 65 years history, a vast majority of Pakistanis value democracy as most suitable for their country; 62 per cent favor, 28 per cent opposed.
Question: Some people think that democratic system is the best system for Pakistan whereas some people think that democratic system is not in Pakistan's interest. What is your opinion on this?
Direction of the nation
Vast majority is dissatisfied with the direction of the nation; only 19 per cent are satisfied, 81 per cent are dissatisfied.

On partition of India 65 years ago
Sixty-five years after the partition of India, 82 per cent of Pakistanis say they would have voted for Partition of India to create Pakistan; 17 per cent say they would have opposed.
