Watch: Agni 5 launch
India on Thursday joined an elite club of nations with the launch of its indigenously developed nuclear capable Agni 5 ballistic missile going off without a hitch.
The trial of Agni 5, an Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile with a strike range of 5000 km, demonstrates the giant strides taken by India in its integrated missile development programme.
Only the United States, Russia, France and China possess the capability to operate an ICBM at present.
Scientists at the Defence Research and Development Organisation worked tirelessly for nearly two years to develop the missile.
No wonder, Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and Defence Minister AK Antony have been quick to hail the achievement.

Aamir Khan to make his television debut
Mr Perfectionist of Bollywood is ready for a grand television debut. Recently, Aamir Khan unveiled the promotional song of his first television show in Mumbai. The concept of 'Satyamev Jayate' as the show called is still under cover. The music of the promotional song has been composed by Ram Sampat while Prasoon Joshi wrote the lyrics and Ram Madhvani did the screen direction. Each episode will have a song especially composed for that particular show.
