Let's meet the illustrious winners of India Abroad awards 2010

Nikki Haley, the first woman and Indian-American Governor of South Carolina, and the India Abroad Person of the Year 2010, could not attend the event as she was away in Europe.

Strobe Talbott, deputy secretary of state in the Clinton administration, was presented the inaugural Friend of India Award, by Meera Shankar, India's Ambassador to the US, and Vijay Dandapani, Chief Operating Officer, AppleCore Hotels, who has sponsored the event from its early beginnings way back in 2003.

Kathleen Shea, VP Sales & Marketing, The Pierre, one of the event's sponsors, astrophysicist Dr Priyamvada Natarajan, FourSquare co-founder Naveen Selvadurai and mathematician Dr Manjul Bhargava, after the presentation of the India Abroad Face of the Future Award.

Dr Bhargava, one of the world's finest mathematicians and the second-youngest full professor at Princeton University, won the first Face of the Future Award in 2008.

Dr Natarajan, who has just discovered a family of the youngest black holes, win the second Face of the Future Award in 2009.

Selvadurai, who is worth an estimated $80 million, is one of the pioneers in social media with his FourSquare site.
