Narendra Modi on Monday took oath as India’s 15th prime minister at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
Forty-five ministers are being sworn in along with Modi. BJP president Rajnath Singh, who will head the home ministry, was the first to take oath after Modi.
Among the top ministers are Arun Jaitley, who will be finance minister and will also have the additional charge of defence and Sushma Swaraj, who will be the external affairs minister.
Over 4,000 guests gathered in the forecourt of the presidential palace to attend the swearing-in.
