World's largest Cantonese fried rice

We take a look at some of the weirdest world records of recent times.

Chinese residents in Costa Rica cook Cantonese fried rice during Chinese Lunar New Year celebrations in Chinatown in San Jose, February 12, 2013.

Some 52 chefs from various Chinese restaurants in Costa Rica cooked the "world's largest Cantonese fried rice", which weighed 1,345 kg, and served over 7,000 people, according to Isabel Yung, president of the Chinese Residents Association in San Jose.

The event was attended by a judge from the Guinness Book of World Records who certified the effort.

Largest hula-hooping event

People take part in an attempt to break the Guinness world record for most number of people simultaneously hula-hooping at Thammasat University stadium in Pathum Thani province, on the outskirts of Bangkok.

Thailand broke the previous record held by Taiwan, with a new record of 4,483 people hula-hooping for 7 minutes. The event was organised by the public health ministry to promote exercise and good health.

Longest continuous kiss

Thai couples locked lips to break the Guinness Record of the world longest continuous kiss ahead of Valentine's Day.

Nine couples aimed to continue kissing until Thursday, to break the previous record of 50 hours 25 minutes and 1 second, held by a Thai couple.

Deepest dive by a disabled person

French athlete Philippe Croizon (L), whose arms and legs were amputated after an electric shock accident in March 1994, swims next to an unidentified diver in a 33 metre deep pool, the world's deepest pool built to train professional divers, at Nemo33 diving centre in Brussels.

Croizon, who swam with adapted prostheses that had flippers attached, broke a world record and became the first disabled person to dive to 33 metres, according to the organisers.

Longest wedding dress

A Guinness World Record for the longest train of a wedding dress is attempted in front of the Parliament palace in Bucharest March 20. The 2,750 meter long train broke a previous record of 2,488 meters. It is made of 4,700 meters of material using 1,857 needles, taking 100 days to made.

Shortest man

Longest line of coins
