Strict restrictions and tight police vigil was put in place to foil a march to the gutted shrine in Srinagar on Friday

Authorities imposed restrictions in major parts of the summer capital Srinagar Friday to foil a march to the gutted shrine of Peer Dastager Sahib at Khanyar.

The call for the march had been given by Kashmir's grand mufti, Bashir-ud-Din. He had asked people to march towards the gutted shrine after the Friday prayers.

Almost all the state government offices, banks and educational institutions in the capital city and other towns were closed. Because of the strike shops and businesses remained shut today.

Reports from other towns said the strike was complete.

Various religious leaders and Kashmir chamber of commerce have asked people and traders to resume their normal day to day activities from Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir government said on Friday said that there was a comprehensive and time bound action plan to "recreate the shrine as per its original design and form" as soon as possible.

"A time bound and comprehensive action plan to recreate the shrine on war footing is being prepared. The shrine complex will be an architectural marvel. Government equally shares the grief and mourning of the people due to the tragedy," state finance minister Abdul Rahim Rather told the media in Srinagar.

He said that the digital videography of the entire shrine complex and its interiors is available and will be used in recreating the shrine as per it's original design and form.

Rather said the second part of the action plan regarding protection and preservation of other shrines of the state will be prepared on war footing.
