Hyderabad braces for Telangana report

Security has been tightened across Hyderabad on the eve of the release of the Srikrishna Committee's report on the formation of a separate Telangana state.

Personnel of Central Reserve Police Force, Border Security Force and Railway Protection Force have been deployed in and around the city.

Paramilitary personnel deployed

Paramilitary personnel have been deployed at sensitive locations like Osmania University and Jamia Osmania Railway Station as a precautionary measure.

A report in a national daily on Wednesday indicated that the Srikrishna Committee's report favoured a unified Andhra.

'Andhra will burn'

Home Minister P Chidambaram has invited two representatives from all parties to discuss the report in New Delhi on Thursday. But the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Telangana Rashtra Samiti have threatened to boycott the meeting.

Earlier, TRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao had warned that 'Andhra will burn if the state of Telangana is not created'.

Hyderabad has witnessed violent protests

The state government and police have ensured tight security in and around Hyderabad to prevent any untoward incidents.

Hyderabad had witnessed major political upheavals and violent protests by pro-Telangana supporters earlier this year, in which scores of people were killed.
