China is trying to promote insurgency in India by helping sectarian forces -- including Islamic terrorists and Maoists -- carry out their nefarious activities against India, a senior intelligence official has revealed.
At a recent meeting between senior leaders of the Maoist movement and the Students Islamic Movement of India, held in Karnataka, a Kerala-based former Naxalite leader was chosen to lead terror operations in southern India, the official told rediff.com.
Sources indicated that while China will support all the activities of these organisations, Pakistan's spy agency Inter Services Intelligence will act as their front.

Experts dealing with China at the Research and Analysis Wing have recently intercepted some messages about this plan. However, the official refused to divulge more details about it.
But sources informed rediff.com that the recent influx of counterfeit currency notes has a Chinese touch to it and this is another major plan by China and Pakistan, who have become close allies, to create economic terror in India.
The Chinese military establishment, according to sources, is trying to support anti-national movements within India and trying to set up a red corridor with help from the Maoists, who have already infiltrated various states across India.

But sources say that China is not satisfied with the performance of the Maoists in India, specially after allegations of corruption involving top Maoist cadres came to the fore.
A Chinese website had recently claimed that China is carrying out its plan to disintegrate India by stoking the fires of regionalism among the Indian states.
Highly placed sources in intelligence agencies told rediff.com that China is supplying arms to Pakistan and helping it in promoting insurgency in India.

The sources admitted that though the United States was wary of China's intentions, it was making no attempts to curb its activities.
Chief of Navy staff Admiral Sureesh Mehta recently outlined the threat posed by China to India's sovereignty. According to sources, Mehta was reiterating the concerns expressed at a recent meeting on national security, which was called by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
The meeting was attended by Defence Minister A K Antony, Home Minister P Chidambaram, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, National Security Advisor M K Narayanan and the chiefs of the three armed forces.

The meeting discussed reports about China arming Pakistan and abetting its activities against India.
Sources pointed out that China had already carried out its plan in Sri Lanka successfully. It helped the Lankan government crush the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam while the US, which was aware of the Communist nation's role, watched silently.
Now a grateful Lanka has allowed Beijing to set up a port in its territory, leading to speculations that China might eventually set up a military base in the island nation.
