Veteran leader L K Advani welcomed the Supreme Court verdict, saying it has come as a big relief to the BJP. "Never in history of India has there been misinformation propaganda against any political leader as it has been against Modi," he said in Mumbai.
Describing the Gujarat chief minister as an outstanding leader of the BJP, capable of discharging every responsibility assigned by the party, Advani said it was "good that the Supreme Court did not accept or subscribe to the misinformation campaign against Modi."
"Good governance and honest administration provided by the Modi government in Gujarat is one rarely seen in any state or country," he said.

"Narendrabhai has passed agnipareeksha (test by fire). My heartiest congratulations to him. Satyamev Jayate. Varsho baad aaj satya ki vijay hui hai," she said.
Her Rajya Sabha counterpart Arun Jaitley said there is not a shred of evidence of involvement of Modi in the riots and the SC verdict has vindicated the BJP stand.
"The BJP has throughout maintained that allegations against Narendra Modi are totally false and there is no shred of evidence against him to connect him with the unfortunate riots," Jaitley said in Delhi.
Jaitley defended Modi, and said that what the Apex court has done by sending the sealed report to the trail court in Gujarat riots, case is in accordance with the law.
"Propaganda is not replacement of evidence," Jaitley said.
"Right from the beginning, the BJP has maintained that there is no evidence against Modi. The Supreme Court constituted a special investigation team headed by the former director of Central Bureau of Investigation and it found no evidence against him," he said.
"What the apex court has done in its order on Monday is accordance with the law. The law would take its own course and cases against the culprits would be proceeded against. Wrong information has been spread time and again," he emphasised.
