Rediff readers sent in their favourite Ganpati pics after the recently concluded Ganesh festival.
Anand Deshpande (Kshirsamudrakar), who is originally from Wardha, but has now settled in Pune, offers a photograph of Tekdi Ganesh from Sitabardi in Nagpur. He says: "It a very old temple and the Ganesh there is four feet high."
Says Anil Sharma: "We brought this Ganpati on August 23 to our home in Lajpat Nagar - II in Delhi. My mother performs the welcome aarti. Ganpatiji remain for five days in our house. During these five days the whole atmosphere in our house is filled with joy and excitement.
"In fact due to Ganpatiji our house seems like there is a wedding in the family. But the last day was bit painful at Visarjan. We were all in tears as it happens at Indian wedding when at the time of vidai/doli tears of happiness come automatically from your eyes. I think we all had the same feeling at the time of visarjan."

They say: "We have been celebrating this festival for the 25 years. This was our silver jubilee celebration. Ganpati Bappa stays at our home for five days."

Pranay Gupta, who works with Rosyblue (I) at Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh says: "We have been celebrating Ganesh Utsav for the last 11 years in our computer (IT) department. We perform the aarti both the times in a day and distribute prashad in company. We do puja for 10 days and we choose an eco friendly Ganesha made from mitti (earth)."

Says Swanand Gogate, from Kalyan, Maharashtra: "This Ganesha, as well as the decorations, are totally eco-friendly. He was created by Preetam, my younger brother with the help of clay and coir. For decoration we used wheat grass, as well as bamboo. We have been celebrating Ganeshotsav in an eco-friendly manner for the last five years."
