Blast kills 4 in Nashik; police rule out terror link

Four persons were killed in a powerful explosion in Saptshrungi Apartment, Tarwala Nagar in Panchavati locality of Nashik on Wednesday, the police said.

Two floors of the building were completely damaged at 3.10 pm, the police said.

Police officials are non-committal on whether it was a terror attack. Apparently, the building housed a jewellery unit, and such units are known to use cylinders in their businesses.

ATS officials and bomb disposal squad that reached the spot are conducting their investigations. The police have managed to pull out two dead bodies from the debris, and suspect that the number of dead could go up.

ATS and police officials are looking for one Manohar Gurnani, resident of Saptashrungi building at Nashik, who is suspected of  stocking the explosives in the.

Police officials have ruled out the possibility of terrorist hand behind the explosion.
