Nights in Berlin are lit up once again. Over a million visitors are camping in the German city to witness the annual festival of lights.
In the festival, on between October 13-24, Berlin's world-famous landmarks, buildings and sites are illuminated. For nearly two weeks, numerous events transform the German capital into a sparkling metropolis.
Overall, more than 60 buildings have been illuminated during the 6th festival of lights.
During the entirety of the festival, the city may be explored by land, air and water. Light-seeing offers many opportunities to view the sights. A tour with the LightLiner bus guides visitors along the illuminated landmarks of Berlin. Cruises down the river Spree can be taken in an illuminated LightShip.
LightVelo taxis are available for fast connections between festival locations. And as a special highlight, visitors can take Europe's fastest elevator to the top of the Kollhoff-tower at Potsdamer Platz, where they will enjoy a spectacular view over the illuminated capital at more than 150m above the ground.
