Groups of students supporting the demand for a separate state of Telangana clashed with police at Osmania University campus for the second day on Friday.
Following the Telangana bandh call given by the Telangana Students Joint Action Committee, the protesting students tried to hold a rally at the varsity campus and hurled stones when the police stopped them, a police officer said.

Police had to lob teargas shells to disperse the agitated students, he said.
Students had clashed with police at the varsity campus on Thursday too, after the report of the Justice Srikrishna Committee on Telangana issue was made public.
The DGP said that only small-intensity pellet-shooting guns were being used to disperse mobs and lethal weapons like .303 Rifle and Self-Loading Rifle were not being used.
"Some tension is certainly prevailing on the Osmania University campus. But our effort is to ensure that it does not escalate," the DGP added.
He said only personnel of the Andhra Pradesh Special Police were now deployed on the university campus.
The police chief said six cases were registered in Hyderabad city in connection with burning of three state road transport buses on Thursday and the stone pelting incidents.
In all 12 persons were arrested in Hyderabad and other parts of the state in connection with the sporadic violence that broke out after the Srikrishna Committee report was made public.
The SMSes doing rounds in bulk claimed that police on Thursday opened fire on students, and several of them were injured.
