Around the World: Gay and PROUD of it!
Every June, members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community unite and organise pride festivals to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall riots in New York, one of the triggering incidents to bolster the gay rights movement in US and around the world.
The pride festivals also serve as foundations to demonstrate for legal rights of the LGBT community, such as same sex marriage and legal recognition.
