Rediff.com's data journalists have visualised the National Sample Survey Office (NSS 66th round, July 2009-June 2010 and 68th round, July 2011-June 2012) data into an interactive map.
The NSSO (earlier known as the National Sample Survey Organisation) is India’s largest establishment for conducting regular socio-economic surveys. It was established in 1950 and comes under the Union ministry of statistics.
Household expenditure per person rose the most (by over 322 per cent) in Raichur, Karnataka, while Basti constituency in Uttar Pradesh witnessed the biggest drop (-26.82 per cent).
How do you view this data? Has your purchasing power improved or is inflation taking a toll on your pocket?
What about your constituency? Has the per person household expenditure there gone up or has it dropped? Why do you think that is?
