Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray and Zee TV chief Subhash Chandra Goyal met in Mumbai on Thursday in a bid to resolve misgivings following the ransacking of Zee TV office by Shiv Sena workers last week over a skit presented during the Zee Marathi annual awards function.

After the meeting that was held at the residence of Maharashtra Bharatiya Janata Party chief Nitin Gadkari, the Zee TV chief is reported to have expressed apology if the skit had offended the Thackeray family, the sources said, adding, "The Shiv Sena executive president, on the other hand, reportedly said the issue was over for him."

A skit titled Kaka Mala Vachva (uncle, save me) was presented at the Zee Marathi annual awards, allegedly commenting on the ongoing power tussle within the Thackeray family that led to the exit of Raj Thackeray from the party.

Shiv Sena workers, incensed by the skit, ransacked the Zee TV office in Lower Parel last week and asked the channel not to telecast the skit, failing which it will invite more ire of the Sainiks.

According to sources, Gadkari, who is close to Uddhav Thackeray, arranged a meeting between the Sena leader and Goyal at his Worli residence. The meeting that lasted for nearly an hour, ended up with both sorting out the issue.

Sources close to Gadkari said the BJP leader planned the meeting owing to his respect for the elder Thackeray and his (Gadkari's) ties with the Thackeray family.
