Z level security for ISRO chairman

Indian Space Research Organisation Chairman Madhavan Nair, one of the key personalities behind the successful launch of India's first moon mission, Chandrayaan has been givenĀ Z grade security in the wake of a terrorist threat.

The decision to provide Z grade security was taken by the Karnataka government following specific threats to ISRO scientists by the Lashkar-e-Tayiba and Dawaood Ibrahim.

An

arrested LeT terrorist and an Intelligence Bureau intercept had suggested that the dreaded outfit had planned to target ISRO scientists and businessmen in India as they considered these people to be assets of the nation.

Rashid Malabari, the member of Dawood's gang who had planned on assassinating BJP leader Varun Gandhi, too revealed during his interrogationĀ that the gang had planned on targeting key personnel in the state.
