A young girl died of suffocation at a overcrowded concert of American musician Skrillex in Gurgaon near Delhi on Sunday.

Anchal Arora, 23, had gone with a group of friends to attend the concert at Leisure Valley Ground. Anchal collapsed during the concert and could not be revived, the police said.

According to sources the venue was packed with a crowd larger than it could possibly manage and that the death could have been due to cardiac arrest caused by suffocation. However, the cause can officially be confirmed only after an autopsy report is released, the cops added.

When Anchal collapsed on the ground, her friends tried to resuscitate her. When they failed to do so, she was taken to a hospital, where she was declared dead.

According to a doctor’s report Anchal could have fainted due to a sharp drop in her pressure and heart rate.

The police say they were informed that the venue would have a maximum of 8,000 people, but at least 2,000 more showed up to hear Skrillex, a six-time Grammy winner.

According to the police, Anchal was the youngest in her family.
