Jailed former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Friday moved the Karnataka high court seeking anticipatory bail in three of the five cases against him relating to alleged irregularities in denotifying lands.

Justice H Billappa adjourned to November 3 hearing on the bail plea of the 68-year-old Bharatiya Janata Party leader, giving time to counsel for complainant and advocate Sirajin Basha to file objections to it.

Basha had filed the complaints in the special lokayukta court. Yeddyurappa, who is currently lodged in the central prison at Parappana Agrahara on the city outskirts, has already filed a plea for regular bail in two cases.

Special Lokayukta Judge N K Sudhindra Rao had on October 15 rejected his bail plea in regard to these two cases and remanded him to judicial custody -- first to October 22 and later extending it till November 3.

Arguments on his bail plea with regard to these two cases are on before Justice B V Pinto of high court.

Basha has already filed a written statement of objections, saying Yeddyurappa continues to be politically powerful and wields enormous power and influence.

Meanwhile, the Lokayukta court on Friday adjourned to November 11, hearing on two other complaints against Yedyurappa relating to alleged denotification of government lands for pecuniary gain.

In all Basha has filed five complaints, comprising 15 cases, in the Lokayukta court against Yeddyurappa and others including his family members.
