With the political crisis in Karnataka showing no signs of relenting, all eyes are now on the 6pm meeting between former state chief minister B S Yeddyurappa and Bharatiya Janata Party state in charge Dharmendra Pradhan.
Yeddyurappa's aide Basavaraj Bommai, after a meeting with Pradhan, told media persons that they have appraised the senior party leader of the political situation.
Bommai said that Pradhan seemed convinced with their argument and hoped that something positive would come out the meeting.
The Yeddyurappa camp is un-relenting and says that they would not settle for anything less than a change in leadership.
The complaint is that Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda has lost the confidence of the MLAs and that he does not acknowledge this fact.
We have sought a legislature party meeting several times but the CM never called for one. Hence he needs to be replaced with Jagadish Shettar, who enjoys the confidence of 70 MLAs backed by Yeddyurappa, the leaders told Pradhan.
However, it is unlikely that the political chaos will be settled on Saturday.
A decision is expected only after Pradhan returns to New Delhi and briefs the high command on the issue.
