Treading cautiously on the issue of government formation in Jharkhand, Congress said on Thursday that it was closely watching the situation and ruled out the possibility of offering chief ministership to anyone in the state.

"We will not offer chief ministership to anyone in Jharkhand," Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay told media-persons outside Parliament.

Jharkhand has plunged into a political crisis after the Bharatiya Janata Party announced withdrawal of support to the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-led government and would hand over a formal letter in this regard to Governor M O H Farooq.

Accusing the BJP of indulging in organised loot of Jharkhand, he said, "We want to reconstruct Jharkhand and we did try to do it during President's Rule in the state." Asked about the party's action plan in the state, Jharkhand Congress leader said, "We are closely watching the situation. It is wait and watch for now."
