A 22-year-old woman has alleged that she was raped by four men in a moving car in Amritsar on Monday night.

Additional commissioner of police (crime) Harjit Singh Brar said that as per the statement of the woman, she was forced into a car by some men at 8 pm on Monday when she was waiting for a bus to reach home.

The woman alleged that she was repeatedly raped by the four accused for at least 45 minutes and later thrown out of the vehicle, the police said, adding that the accused were absconding.

The victim is working with a cellular phone company in Amritsar. She was admitted to a Government Civil Hospital where her medical examination was carried out.

A team of doctors have confirmed intercourse but said no injury marks were found on her body, the police said.
Brar said call details of the woman's phone show that she received a lot of calls from some particular numbers before and after the incident. The police suspect that the kidnappers were already known to the victim.
