Former Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa will probably be missing in action at the National Executive Meeting of top leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party, which starts on Tuesday.
Yeddyurappa, who is facing a slew of corruption cases, has enrolled himself for a three-day course at the Art of Living Foundation in Bangalore.
His close aides told rediff.com that Yeddyurappa wanted to take a break.
At the Foundation, the former CM will practice the Sudarshan Kriya; he will remain at the Bangalore ashram till Friday.
Yeddyurappa has been sulking for the past couple of days after the BJP top brass refused to succumb to his pressure tactics and make him the state party unit's president.
He is also upset about his close aides being shunted out of key party positions. He had made a ruckus after his closest aide Dhananjay Kumar was removed from the post of party spokesperson.
Yeddyurappa has been telling K S Eshwarappa, the deputy chief minister, to resign from the post of state president as he cannot hold two portfolios at the same time. On Tuesday, he had openly told Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar to remove all his loyalists from key positions.
The wily politician has played it safe this time. Had he openly boycotted the BJP's National Executive Meeting as a mark of protest, he may have been suspended by the party's top leaders. The three-day course at the Art of Living Foundation gives him an excuse to skip the party meet and still avoid suspension.
