What happened to 'Rahul factor' in Bihar, asks BJP

November 24, 2010 14:48 IST
The Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday took a dig at the Congress in the wake of its poor showing in the Bihar assembly elections, saying the 'Rahul factor' did not work in the polls.

"Congressmen were blowing their trumpet and chanting Rahul Gandhi's name. Where is that Rahul factor?" asked senior BJP leader Ananth Kumar. He said the Rahul factor did not work in Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Gujarat. "The Rahul factor was missing from Uttar Pradesh. And now the people of Bihar have said there is no Rahul factor," Kumar added.

In Bihar, the factors that matter are good administration and development, National Democratic Alliance's Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Janata Dal-United's Nitish Kumar and Sushil Modi, the BJP leader said.

"Rahul Gandhi goes in search of real India during his visits across the country. But in Bihar a situation prevails where the Congress needs to be searched," Kumar said.
