Dentist couple Rajesh and Nupur Talwar, accused of killing their teenaged daughter Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj, on Thursday expressed disappointment over dismissal of their review petition by the Supreme Court but said they accept the decision with humility.
In a statement, they said, "We are deeply disappointment by the dismissal of our review petition by the honourable Supreme Court of India but we accept it with humility."
"However, we will defend our honour and that of our dead child Aarushi vigorously in the trial court. We will not rest till out innocence is proved and our honour vindicated and till the real killers are found and brought to book. We believe justice and truth will one day prevail," they said.
Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court dismissed Nupur's review petition challenging summons issued by a special CBI court and warned her of "exemplary costs" for any frivolous litigation.
A bench of justices A K Patnaik and J S Khehar also dismissed her plea for further investigations into the crime and dismissed as "infructuous" the bail application moved by her.
Fourteen-year-old Aarushi was found dead with her throat slit at her Noida residence on the intervening night of May 15 and 16, 2008, while the body of Hemraj was recovered from the terrace of the house the next day.
