On The Sidelines:

* Congress Lok Sabha MPs wear black arm bands to Parliament as a mark of protest.

* Lok Sabha adjourned till 12 noon after uproar over Lalit Modi-EAM Swaraj issue.

* Rajiv Shukla (Congress): When in Opposition, BJP coined formula 'pehle isteefa, phir charcha'. So we are just following that.

* Rajiv Pratap Rudy (BJP): Baseless allegations of the Congress just shows the impatience and frustration in them.

* Deadlock is likely to continue in Parliament on Thursday as well with the Congress-led Opposition remaining adamant on demand for resignations of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Chief Ministers of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

* Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu: People of the country are happy, development is happening. The Congress has no issues; it should rethink its stand.

* Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, MoS Parliamentary Affairs, on Congress: Ghotale kar kar ke khud hi ghotalon ke chakrvuyh mein phans gaye hain (Congress has trapped in a quagmire after repeatedly committing scams).

* Reports claim that the Centre may rework the Land Acquisition Bill by next week and all contentious provisions could be struck down. Further, the government is expected to allow states to draft their own land laws with the reference law being the central one. "Pro-people" measures will be the centre point of these laws, the Times of India reported.

* On Wednesday, the BJP launched a counterattack on the Congress, releasing a sting tape to make allegations of corruption against its chief minister in Uttarakhand, Harish Rawat. It has accused Rawat of changing the state's excise policy to help private firms, a charge that Rawat denied.
