It seems the monsoon session of Parliament will be a washout as the Congress seems unrelenting on on its disruptive tactics. There are only 2 days to go for this session to end. The Opposition has been vociferously demanding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi be held accountable and make a statement about Lalitgate, the Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh and fake degree controversy surrounding Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani.
On Wednesday, External Affairs Minister appealed to Speaker Sumitra Mahajan to accept Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge's adjournment motion.
With their demands, the Congress has been holding up important bills such as the Goods and Services Tax Bill – which was introduced on Tuesday in the Rajya Sabha. The disruptions have been the norm in Parliament with the Congress failing to allow session to continue.
