As the stalemate between the opposition and the government continued for two weeks over the issue of suspension of 12 MPs, both Houses of parliament have witnessed little business except the government passing bills amid din without any proper discussion

The opposition stressed that they were keen on smooth functioning of the House, but alleged the government was adamant.

Meanwhile, the Centre is scheduled to move two Bills in the Rajya Sabha to extend the tenures of directors of the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Enforcement Directorate up to a maximum of five years from the present two years.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh will move the 'Central Vigilance Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2021' and the 'Delhi Special Police Establishment (Amendment) Bill, 2021' in the Upper House in the second half of the day for consideration and passage.
