Do you think the four-day ban on meat in Mumbai is justified?

This definitely has all the meat for a controversy.

First came the beef ban in Maharashtra. Now the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has imposed a four-day ban on meat in Mumbai during the Jain festival of Paryushan.

The slaughter and sale of meat has been banned in Mumbai on September 10, 13, 17 and 18. Eggs and fish will be available.

During these four days, the city's Deonar abattoir will be shut. Restaurants may serve meat if they have it in stock.

The move came days after the Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation, where the Bharatiya Janata Party is in power, voted to ban the sale of meat for eight days during Paryushan.
