Punjabi singer held in fake visa case

The Delhi police has arrested noted Punjabi singer Sukhwinder Singh alias Panchi and two others -- his secretary Punjab Singh alias Bittoo and Mangal Singh Dhillon -- in a fake visa and passport racket case.

The racket came to light when two persons, Jaskaran Singh and Devinder Singh, both from Jallandhar district of Punjab, were nabbed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport two days ago, Deputy Commissioner of Police (IGIA) Devesh Srivastava said on Saturday.

The two were about to board an Air France flight to Paris, the DCP said.

The visas on their passports were found to be chemically washed, he said.

During interrogation, they revealed that their agents were staying in a hotel in Paharganj, central Delhi, he said.

Following a raid on the hotel, the singer and his accomplices were arrested, the officer added.
