Slain brigand Veerappan's daughters have managed to secure admission in a school in Chennai, his wife Muthulakshmi, said on Monday.

Muthulakshmi told PTI that she had tried to get admission for her eldest daughter Vidya Rani, 15, and Prabha, 13, at various places, including at Tiruchirapalli, Salem, Madurai, Nilgiris and Namakkal, but in vain.

A school at Namakkal had promised to admit them, but later backed out, she said. Finally, through a Christian institution, she had managed to get admission for Vidya Rani in class 9 and for Prabha, in class 8 at Chennai.

However, she declined to reveal the name of the school.

Vidya Rani wanted to become an IAS officer, while Prabha is interested in computer science, she said.
