Varanasi: Driver kills former BSP leader's wife, father-in-law

A former Bahujan Samaj Party leader's wife and father-in-law were allegedly murdered by their car driver in a loot bid in Gayatri Nagar colony in Cantt area in Varanasi, the police said on Thursday.

Former BSP leader Amirchand Patel's wife Hirawati Devi, 50, and father-in-law Kharpattu Patel, 70, were killed by their car driver Ajit, on Thursday with a sharp weapon, the police said.

Later Ajit was nabbed by police from neighbour's house, where he was hiding after murdering the duo with a bag filled with cash and jewellery looted from them, they said.

Amirchand's nephew, Durgesh who was injured too by the driver, informed the police about the incident, the police said.
