"I do not want to say anything against Vajpayeeji. But I would like to make it clear that he is being misused in the gangwar," Singh told reporters in New Delhi when asked about Vajpayee's allegation in Varanasi on Wednesday.
The Samajwadi Party leader said he was not making any concocted stories about the "gangwar", but the fact is that the killing of BJP legislator Krishnanand Rai was the result of this and alleged that one group had been patronised by senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh.
To prove his point, Amar Singh said appointment of Chulbul, the brother of Brajesh Kumar (leader of a Gang) by Rajnath Singh speaks loudly in this regard and even offered to resign if Rajnath Singh deny this.
Alleging deterioration in the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh, Vajpayee had asked BJP workers to carry out a "decisive" agitation to throw out the Samajwadi Party government.
"The state has witnessed a spate of murders of ordinary people and political leaders and such killings are taking place on regular basis during the Samajwadi Party-led government which must come to an end," Vajpayee had said.
