Sources in the Congress have begun to brief business houses and mediapersons with 'adequate numbers' to prove that the United Progressive Alliance government is in majority, despite Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress pulling out its 19 members of Parliament from the government.
A similar pattern of numbers of UPA I was spread during the 2008 trust vote over the nuclear deal logjam.
The UPA II is confident to continue in office till May 2014 and the Congress managers see no possibility of a snap-poll.
The government expects that if the BJP bringsĀ a no confidence motion in the next session of Parliament, theĀ Left, Telangana Rashtra Samithi and Biju Janata Dal would walkout, as they do not want an early election.
The government is also hopeful that either Samajwadi Party or Bahujan Samaj Party would also walkout, sources reveal.
