Car bomb found near Glasgow mosque

July 03, 2007 14:00 IST
Police carried out a controlled explosion of a vehicle parked near a mosque in Glasgow on Tuesday.

Sources asserted that there is no connection between the explosion and the attacks of the last two

days. Police foiled a car bombing in London on Friday and on Saturday two men rammed a blazing car into Glasgow airport.

The mosque area was closed off before the controlled explosion. Residents however, were not vacated.
