Two policemen wounded in J&K ambush

Two cops were injured in a terrorist ambush at Pulwama district in south Kashmir late on Monday evening.

A senior police officer said that heavily armed terrorists ambushed a posse of the Special Operations Group of the state police at Neloora village, 45 kilometres from capital Srinagar.

"The terrorists fired indiscriminately at the personnel of the SOG resulting in injuries to two cops. They were evacuated to hospital for treatment. The area has been cordoned off for searches.

The ambush follows a series of fierce encounters in recent days between security forces and terrorists in south Kashmir.
