Kesiya and Albert Roy, the 19-month old Indian twins whose parents are in Saudi Arabian prisons in connection with the murder of a maid, could finally board a flight for Kerala.
The parents of the babies -- Roy Joseph and Biji Thomas -- are languishing in police custody in two separate jails in Riyadh without trial for the past 45 days, despite requests by eight Indian social organisations to the Indian Embassy to help expedite the case.
"The children, who were separated from their lactating mother for more than a month, left Riyadh on Thursday to join their grandparents in Kerala," general convener of the Federation of Kerala Associations in Saudi Arabia (Fokasa), Muraleedharan, told The Saudi Gazette.

Fokasa demanded Indian Ambassador MOH Farook should adopt a proactive approach and do everything possible for the release of the detained couple. It said the Indian Embassy was bound by its duties to represent its nationals when they are in legal disputes in Saudi Arabia, particularly in the case of the mother who suffered a mental breakdown and had to be treated in a psychiatric hospital.
The embassy earlier said the mission, despite writing a letter to the Saudi Ministry of External Affairs, had so far failed to receive any counsellor access to the detained Kerala couple.
