25 passengers injured as train derails in Madhya Pradesh

At least 25 passengers were injured when six coaches of the Mumbai-Pratapgarh Udyog Nagri Express derailed near Vidisha in Madhya Pradesh on Monday morning.

The train derailed between Sourai and Sumer stations at 6:20 hours on Monday, Divisional Railway Manager, Ghanshyam Singh said

"At least 25 passengers suffered injuries in the mishap," Railway Superintendent of Police, IP Arjaria said. However, Central Railway Spokesperson Anil Kumar Saxena said 12 people were injured in the mishap, five of them seriously.

A medical team has reached the spot and the injured have been admitted to a hospital in Vidisha. Following the mishap, traffic has been disrupted on the track connecting Bhopal with Delhi.
