The Telangana Rashtra Samithi and Telangana leaders of other parties are ready for "any sacrifices" if the terms of reference (TOR) of the Srikrishna Committee are not in their favour, TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao said today.
The TRS leader held prolonged discussions with several Congress leaders at the residence of Rajya Sabha member K Keshav Rao this evening even as the Congress Core Committee discussed the TOR issue in Delhi.
"The wider opinion expressed at the meeting is that the committee should be for the formation of Telangana. It should complete the process of state formation that began with the announcement by Home Minister P Chidambaram on December 9.
The committee should also have a limited time-frame like a few months," Rao told reporters after the meeting.
He said the leaders have come to the conclusion that they should be prepared for any sacrifices and consequences in the event of the TOR going against their demand.
"We will hold a meeting and take an appropriate decision after the TOR are announced. We felt that we should be prepared for any tough decisions."
Announcing that they have prepared a strategy on the issue of TOR, he said the tough decisions, include submitting en mass resignations afresh as the Assembly Speaker has rejected the letters submitted earlier. The resignations were rejected as they were not in proper format. He declined to divulge what the strategy is.
