Engine and parcel van of Pooja Express derail; no casualties

Passengers of the Delhi-bound 2414 Pooja Express from Jaipur escaped unhurt when the engine and parcel van of the train derailed early on Tuesday near the Delhi Cantonment railway station.

The engine and parcel van derailed at 0255 IST, just after the train left the Delhi Cantt station, a Northern Railway spokesman said.

There were no casualties or injuries in the incident, he said adding the cause of the derailment was yet to be ascertained. The train was running five hours late, he said.

Following the derailment, the Delhi bound Ahmedabad-Delhi Express and the Jodhpur-Delhi Mandore Express were terminated at the Delhi Cantonment station, he added.
