Two students from Manipur were allegedly assaulted by care taker of their rented accommodation, and two others after an altercation at a south Delhi locality, police said on Tuesday.

Sudesh, Shakeel Khan and Sushil were arrested recently for the attack on Yurngam and Wungshungmi at their rented premises in Kotla Mubarakpur in south Delhi.

The duo filed a complaint alleging that Shakeel, caretaker of their rented accommodation, and two others attacked them on the intervening night of August 18 and 19.

All the students staying in the building went to the rooftop after power cut on that night and there was exchange of argument between some local tenants and students on a trivial issue.

"Thereafter, the students came down and in the meantime somebody informed the landlord about the incident, staying in Vasant Kunj area. The landlord directed to his care taker Shakeel to go and sort out the issue," a senior police official said.

When Shakeel went there, he beat up the duo along with his associates.
