A roadside bomb blast on Monday killed three personnel of the bomb disposal unit who were on their way to defuse another explosive device elsewhere in Peshawar, the capital of Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Sources said that a minor blast had occurred on Sunday night at Badaber on the outskirts of the city and a bomb disposal unit in-charge Abdul Haq and other personnel of the team were on way to the scene of incident early this morning.

A roadside planted bomb near Sheikh Mohammadi area of Badaber went off and destroyed the vehicle. Sub-inspector Abdul Haq, constable Imtiaz and the driver of the vehicle Kashif were killed in the blast. The injured persons were shifted to LadyReadingHospital.

The police and other security personnel have cordoned off the area and another bomb, containing four kilograms of explosive materials, was defused after a search operation.
