Prime Minister Manmohan Singh broke a very long silence with a combative press conference in New Delhi on Friday.

It was only the third press conference of his nearly 10-year tenure as prime minister.

He ruled out of another term for him as prime minister should the United Progressive Alliance come back to power, a virtual announcement of retirement.

He launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi saying that he would be disastrous for the country.

He also defended his actions while virtually presenting a report card of his tenure. He said that history would judge him far kindly than the media and the opposition.

How would you rate the prime minister’s performance on Friday?
