A suicide bomber rammed his explosives-laden vehicle into a security check-post in Pakistan's restive Swat valley on Saturday killing at least 10 people and injuring 13 others, a day after multiple blasts in Lahore claimed 45 lives.

The suicide attacker struck the check post in Mingora, the main city in Swat district, around 9 am local time, witnesses and local residents said.

The check-post was manned jointly by army soldiers and policemen.

Two security personnel were among the 10 people killed in the attack, officials were quoted as saying by TV news channels. Thirteen wounded people were taken to nearby hospitals, they said.

Five cars were destroyed by the powerful blast. Footage on television showed some of the cars on fire.

The attack caused panic in the area and hotels and shops shut down soon after the blast.

The government circuit house, which is currently being occupied by the army, and the district courts are located a short distance from the site of the blast.

No group claimed responsibility for the attack so far.

The attack in Swat came a day after the eastern city of Lahore was rocked by seven blasts.

Five low-intensity explosions went off in the space of minutes near a market in Lahore on Friday night, hours after two suicide bombers struck an army convoy, killing 45 people and injuring 100 others.
