In a significant move the TJAC has also decided to put off the 48-hour long rail rook, which was scheduled to start on Friday, and said that the future dates will be announced after a united forum of all the representatives finalise the plan of action. Similarly the vanta varapu or the cooking on the roads programme slated for Sunday has also been put on hold.
TJAC Convenor Professor Kodanda Ram told newsmen in Hyderabad that he had already spoken to leaders of some of the parties and they have responded positively to the idea of a joint action programme.
"All members of Parliament, members of Legislative Assembly and members of Legislative Council, who have resigned along with the representatives of other organisations, would come together on a united platform on Saturday and Sunday to finalise the future course of agitation" he said, adding that even the Telugu Desam Telangana Forum leaders have shown interest in the idea.
If the plan of holding a joint agitation materialises it will be a major step towards the consolidation of all pro-Telangana forces. So far the TJAC was seen as a front of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and all other parties kept away from it. But if the other political parties or Telangana leaders join the initiative, then the movement is likely to gain further momentum.
Ram said, "A beginning was already made in this direction when more than 100 MLAs, 15 MPs and many MLCs resigned simultaneously. It has rocked the central government."
He said that the Telugu Desam and the TRS can go ahead with their own agitation programmes which they had finalised earlier.
Earlier in the day a group of TDP Telangana Forum leaders met Ram and requested that the TJAC should support their bus yatra programe in the region to create awareness among the people on the contentious issue of separate T state. He had requested them to postpone the programme till a joint action plan was formulated, but the TDP leaders said that all the arrangements were made and it was not feasible to put it on hold.
