Exiled Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen is penning her sixth autobiographical book Nai Kichu Nei (There is Nothing), but recent circumstances have not allowed her to continue writing.

"Yes, Nai Kichu Nei is supposed to be published during the next Kolkata Book Fair in January-February. It deals with the agonising days in 1997-2002 when my father and mother fell ill and my secret visit to Bangladesh during my mother's illness," Nasreen told PTI from an undisclosed location.

"I am not fully sure if the book can hit the stands during the time," Nasreen said while expressing her wish to return to Kolkata as soon as possible.

Her sudden departure from Kolkata on November 22 and subsequent relocation for security reasons did not allow her to concentrate on her writing, the doctor-turned-writer said.

Shibani Mukherjee of People's Book Society, the publisher of the book, said it was slated for launch during the book fair.

Referring to Dwikhandito she said in accordance with the writer's wishes, three pages would be deleted and the new edition published with a footnote by the writer.

Nasreen had on Friday issued a statement saying that she was withdrawing three controversial pages from her autobiographical novel Dwikhandito as they had evoked strong protests from 'a section of people in India'.

Her other autobiographical works are Amar Meyebela (My Girlhood), Utal Hawa (Gusty Wind), Dwikhandito and Sei Sob Andhakar (Those Dark Days), Ami Bhalo Nei, Tumi Bhalo Theko Desh (I am not well, you remain well my country).
