Prabha Arun KumarThe Australian police do not seem to have made much headway in the murder of Indian techie Prabha Arun Kumar in Sydney.

The 41 year old was returning home from work when she was stabbed in Westmead, a suburb of Sydney, on March 7.

An official from the New South Wales police spoke to Rediff.com about the ongoing investigation.

"Homicide squad detectives attached to Strike Force Marcoala are continuing to investigate the murder of Prabha Arun Kumar. This is a difficult and protracted investigation, but police are committed to identifying and arresting Prabha's killer."

"Detectives are continuing to review the substantial amount of information gathered to date, including a large amount of information from the public."

"We appreciate how much the death has affected the Indian community, especially Prabha's family, and we will continue to keep them informed where possible."

"As with any homicide investigation, it is not appropriate within our jurisdiction to divulge the specifics of the investigation as the matter is currently before the coroner. Strike Force Marcoala detectives are continuing to appeal for anyone with any information about Prabha's death to come forward," he said.
